My name is Breanne Hack and I am currently in my 4th year of the Elementary Education program at the University of Regina. I am from Regina and went to Davin elementary school and Sheldon Williams high school. I thoroughly enjoyed my internship where I team taught 46 students in grade 2/3. It was an amazing experience to be in such an innovative classroom.
I believe what lead me to choose a career in teaching is my love of working with children and the desire to make a positive impact on each of my students’ lives. I have worked as a camp counsellor at the YMCA of Regina and at the University of Calgary. I currently facilitate youth programs at the YMCA, work with a child with Autism, and work after school care at a school in Regina. I have worked with children with exceptionalities and children who are learning English as an additional language.
I have been involved in band, choir, outdoor education, various musicals, high school yearbook committee, and badminton. Through band and choir I was provided the opportunity to perform in Disney Land and New York. I enjoy travelling and have been very fortunate to travel to many places. I also spend my time outdoors skiing/snowboarding and skating. I like to spend time with friends and family and love to laugh!
In regards to my ecmp class, I am not very good with technology. I am taking this class to push myself to use technology. I am completely out of my comfort zone and it has been tough for me to update my twitter and I have been slow on starting this blog. I am hoping that through this class I can feel more confident and comfortable with using technology. I believe it is essential to use technology in the classroom, as it can stem learning and engage students. During my internship I used the smart board, Ipads, CD players, and various educational websites.
Thanks for reading this brief snapshot about me!
