Tessa and I examined twitter in the classroom. We looked at the tool through a positive teacher perspective and negative parent perspective. We see this tool as a valuable tool for the higher level classrooms. To form our ideas we used the website bubbl.us to create bubble maps. We also looked at the resource about 50 ways to use Twitter in the classroom.
Here is the Teachers perspective:
We also found this a video that is worth the watch, which shows the benefits of using twitter in the classroom.
Here is the Parents Perspective:
Overall, I find myself agreeing with the teacher’s perspective in that twitter is a positive tool to use in the classroom. Since I got Twitter, I now see the benefits of using it to connect to others around the world. Students can also see information and news from around the world which is an essential aspect to learning. Give your students a chance to tweet and be involved in the twitter world.
